Le jour d'Arafat (يوم عرفة) est le 9ᵉ jour de Dhu al-Hijjah. Il constitue le pilier central du Hajj : les pèlerins se rassemblent sur la plaine d'Arafat pour la station (الوقوف). Pour les non-pèlerins, le jeûne de ce jour est fortement recommandé.
